## pyre volume create

Create a volume

### Synopsis

Creates a volume on your hub. --type is how the appliance will present
it on your computer: nfs (Linux, macOS), smb (Windows, macOS), iscsi,
none (block device only) or nfs+smb. Sizes use decimal units (100GB =
10^11 bytes) unless written as GiB.

--encryption customer encrypts every block with a key only you hold.
The key file is created on the computer that runs the appliance by
"pyre appliance deploy" (~/.pyre/<container>.key); the server never
sees it, so losing the file makes the volume unrecoverable by anyone.
Fixed at creation.

```
pyre volume create <name> [flags]
```

### Examples

```
  pyre volume create backups --size 100GB --type nfs
  pyre volume create shares --size 2TB --type smb --encryption customer
```
