## pyre export open

Write the volume's raw disk image from the export, decrypted with your key

### Synopsis

Decrypts every block and writes them at their offsets into one file: the
volume's disk image. For an SMB or NFS volume that is the appliance's
ext4 filesystem: mount it read-only on Linux (mount -o loop,ro), open
it with 7-Zip on Windows or macOS, or skip the image and use pyre
export extract. For an iSCSI volume the image holds whatever filesystem
you put on the disk, and pyre prints how to attach it on your OS
(--vhd adds the footer Windows Disk Management needs). The file is
sparse where the volume was empty; it needs as much room as the
volume's size.

```
pyre export open <directory or zip>... [flags]
```

### Examples

```
  pyre export open /media/disc1 /media/disc2 --key ~/.pyre/pyre-backups.key --out backups.img
  pyre export open ~/pyre-copy --key ~/.pyre/pyre-disk.key --out disk.vhd --vhd   # iSCSI, for Windows
```

### Options

```
      --allow-missing        write the image even if some parts were not given
  -h, --help                 help for open
      --key string           key file: the volume's (default ~/.pyre/pyre-<volume>.key) or the export key
      --out string           image file to write
      --salt-prefix string   the prefix the key was salted with, when the export does not say (a copy of volume X: X/)
      --vhd                  append a fixed-VHD footer so Windows Disk Management can attach the image
```

### Options inherited from parent commands

```
      --api string       API base URL (default from the profile, or https://api.pyredata.io)
      --ca-cert string   PEM file with an extra CA to trust (self-hosted managers)
      --insecure         skip TLS certificate verification (lab use only)
  -o, --output string    output format: table, json or plain (default "table")
      --profile string   config profile to use (see: pyre config)
  -q, --quiet            print results only, no notices
      --token string     API token (default from the profile; prefer PYRE_TOKEN in scripts)
  -y, --yes              answer yes to every confirmation (for scripts)
```
